Holmberg is in Lincoln for his first season with the ‘Dogs and third year in the American Association altogether. The big left-hander was originally drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 2^nd round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of Port Charlotte HS in Port Charlotte, FL and eventually made his debut in 2013 as a member of the Cincinnati Reds. Holmberg has four years of MLB Experience and 51 career MLB outings from 2013 to 2017. Holmberg is closing in on 100 professional wins and 400 professional starts, and his long career includes two years with the Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association – where he went 6-1 with a 2.34 ERA in 12 starts as the ace of a Milwaukee team that won the league title in 2020.
