Smith is one of the best and most recognizable players in Saltdogs history. Coming into 2020, his career ranks with the ‘Dogs are as follows: Second all-time in games played (578), second all-time in games started (576), third all-time in runs scored (340), second all-time in hits (701), third all-time in doubles (130), second all-time in homers (86), second all-time in RBI (390), second all-time in total bases (1,117), and most all-time in walks (194). He was originally drafted in the 39th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals out of the University of Maine, and also has six years of affiliated experience. Smith was the MVP of 2011 World Baseball cup (Dutch National Team).
