CLEBURNE, TX — The Lincoln Saltdogs announced today that left-handed pitcher Kyle Kinman re-signed with the team.  The Saltdogs placed RHP Derek Gordon on the Disabled List retroactive to June 14th.  Kinman will start for Lincoln tonight.

Kinman started the season on the Saltdogs’ roster and pitched in six games.  He surrendered three runs on four hits over 4.2 innings pitched.  He posted 5.79 ERA and struggled with his control, walking eight batters.  The lefty struck out four and gave up just four hits.

Kinman graduated from Omaha Northwest High School and pitched for two seasons at Bellevue University.  He was 8-4 with a 1.85 ERA as senior with the Bruins in 2014.  His performance led to the Braves selecting the Omaha-native in the 25th round of the MLB Draft.

The southpaw continued his success with the Braves organization.  He was 5-2 with a 2.34 ERA over three seasons.  Kinman reached as high as Double-A Mississippi in 2015-16.  He as 1-2 with a 3.07 ERA in 2016 before getting shut down with Tommy John surgery.

Gordon heads to the DL after leaving his last start with a left leg injury.  A Texas AirHogs baserunner took out Gordon while sliding into home plate on June 13th.  Gordon is expected to return later this month.  The Lincoln Southeast product is 3-0 with a 5.82 ERA over six starts.
