LINCOLN — You can help support the U.S. troops by bringing used or new baseball gloves to Haymarket Park, as part of former Saltdogs infielder Vance Albitz’s Gloves 4 Troops initiative.
Drop off your baseball gloves or baseballs to the Saltdogs front office at Haymarket Park to help bring America’s Pastime to our men and women defending the country overseas.
Albitz has set a goal of sending 1,000 gloves to troops stationed around the world before Spring Training.
"As of today, there have been 160 gloves sent out to over 30 different locations," according to Albitz. "95% of the gloves have gone to different locations throughout Afghanistan.
