LINCOLN, NE – The Lincoln Saltdogs have re-signed right handed pitcher Derek Gordon for the 2018 Season.  Gordon finished the 2017 Season with the ‘Dogs with 9 wins, 4 loses, an ERA of 3.62 over a total of 114.1 innings pitched.  In July of 2017, Gordon was named Pointstreak’s Pitcher of the Week as well as the American Association Rawlings Pitcher of the Month.  Gordon went 5-0 with an ERA of 1.54 over his six starts during the month.

Gordon, the younger brother of Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon, is a Lincoln native and Alumni of Southeast High School.  Gordon spent 2 seasons with the Royals organization before signing with the Lincoln Saltdogs for the 2017 season.

Other returning Saltdogs players include INF Christian Ibarra, RHP J.R. Bunda, OF Brandon Jacobs, OF Cesar Valera, RHP Shairon Martis, who spent some time the Baltimore Orioles in 2017, RHP Dimitri Kourtis, INF Ivan Marin, C Dashenko Ricardo, INF Curt Smith and OF Randolph Oduber.

 

Opening day is Thursday, May 17th against the Sioux City Explorers at Haymarket Park.
