Saltdogs’ 1B Ian Gac was named American Association Player of the Week by Poinstreak, the league’s statistics provider Monday.

The Seattle-area native slugged four home runs with seven RBI over the eight-game stretch. His walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth Sunday was his 23rd of the year, breaking the franchise’s single-season record.

Gac went 12-for-31 (.387) with 10 runs scored and three doubles.

This is Gac’s second A.A. Player of the Week award of the season and his third as a Saltdog.

The 29-year old’s tape-measure “Gac Attacks” have earned him such nicknames as “The Great Masher,” “The Bellevue Bopper” and “The Seattle Swat Man.”

Lincoln is one game back of Gary for the Central division lead with seven to play, and opens a three-game set at Sioux Falls Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. Radio coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
