RAMAPO, N.Y. — Luis Nunez drilled a two-run homer to tie the game in the eighth and Matt Forgatch spanked a solo shot to lead off the ninth as the Saltdogs (30-30) came back to beat the Rockland Boulders (31-23) 5-4 in front of 2,034 fans at Provident Bank Park Sunday afternoon.

Forgatch's game-winner came on an 0-2 pitch from Rockland reliever Shawn Gilblair, a searing drive beyond the bleachers in left field.

Nuñez also cleared the left field bleachers with his impressive poke after Chad Mozingo had walked to tie the game at 4-4.

Rockland hit two home runs and built a 4-2 lead through six innings after Ian Gac put the Saltdogs in front with a two-run shot to left in the first inning.

Brian Joynt prevented two runs in the second inning when he angled back to the right field wall and speared a Will Wash drive which would have left the yard if not for the Lincoln right fielder.

Jhonny Montoya (1-0) worked a scoreless eighth to pick up the win in relief. Marshall Schuler pitched the ninth to earn his league-leading 19th save of the year.

Gilblair (0-2) gave up a run in one inning to suffer the loss.

The Saltdogs wrapped up their Eastern road trip with a record of 5-4 against three of the four Can-Am ball clubs.
