LINCOLNThe Saltdogs acquired lock down left-handed reliever David Quinowski and rookie slugger Matt Forgatch in a trade with Gary SouthShore Saturday.
 
In exchange, Lincoln sends OF Asif Shah and RHP Alberto Rolon to the RailCats. The trade is effective immediately, and Forgatch is expected to start in right field for the Saltdogs Saturday night against Sioux City.
 
Quinowski, who pitched last season in Double-A Richmond for the San Francisco Giants, has a career ERA of 2.55 with 312 strikeouts in 301 1/3 innings.
 
The 26-year old from San Bernardino, Calif. had been 3-1 with a 2.08 ERA in 20 games of relief for RailCats.
 
Forgatch is hitting .230 with four home runs and 13 RBI in 24 games for Laredo and Gary. During his senior season at Pepperdine this spring, Forgatch helped lead the Waves to a WCC championship and earned NCAA All-Stanford Regional honors.
 
Shah was hitting .288 with three home runs and 20 RBI in 64 games for the Saltdogs this season. Rolon was 2-4 with a 7.63 ERA in 13 games, including 12 starts.
 
Rolon was slated to start Saturday night for the Saltdogs but will be replaced by rookie RHP Brandon Sinnery in the rotation, who recently completed his collegiately career at Michigan.
