Chase Harris homered, and Lincoln pitching carried a shutout into the eighth inning as the Saltdogs downed the Sioux City Explorers 6-2 in an exhibition game in Seward Thursday night.

Harris finished the game 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double, totaling three RBI. Curt Smith put the ‘Dogs on the board in the bottom of the first with a double to left center, bringing home Christian Ibarra who led off the inning with a sharp single.

Ryan O’Sullivan pitched the first two frames for Lincoln, allowing two hits, walking three and striking out three but did not allow any damage.

Bennett Parry and Matt Shepherd each worked two perfect innings with two strikeouts.

The Saltdogs are now 2-0 in the exhibition slate. They travel to Kingston, Iowa to take on Sioux City Saturday night.

MLB great Jamie Moyer was on hand to sign autographs and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Moyer was in the area representing the Moyer Foundation in partnership with Mourning Hope.
