GENEVA, Illinois – Forrestt Allday went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs in his first start since May 22, Walter Borkovich allowed just one run over seven innings, and the ‘Dogs beat Kane County 8-3 at Northwestern Medicine Field on Thursday night.

Allday doubled in the 1st inning and added an RBI single in Lincoln’s five-run 3rd inning. Starting as the designated hitter, Allday also hit a two-run homer – his first of the year – in the 9th.

Borkovich delivered Lincoln’s longest start of the year, allowing just one run on four hits with one walk and six strikeouts in seven innings. Jason Seever allowed two unearned runs over two innings to end the game.

David Vidal went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and a run scored, while Ryan Long went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Zak Taylor extended his hitting streak to six games with two hits, while Josh Altmann also extended his hitting streak to 10 with two hits and an RBI.

Lincoln tagged ex-Major Leaguer Vance Worley for six runs on nine hits over seven innings, and the five-run 3rd inning was tied for Lincoln’s highest-scoring half-inning of the year.

The ‘Dogs, now 8-6 and tied for second in the South Division, head to Sioux City for a three-game series over the weekend. Friday’s game starts at 7:05 p.m., and pregame coverage begins at 6:35 on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
