LINCOLN, Nebraska – Spencer Herrmann allowed just two earned runs over seven innings, but the Saltdogs were shut out for a sixth time this year in a 3-0 loss to the St. Paul Saints to wrap up a nine-game homestand at Haymarket Park on Saturday night.

Herrmann allowed three runs total – all with two outs in the 6th. John Silviano scored Jeremy Martinez with a single before Chris Baker added two more with a bloop single to center.

Lincoln had just six hits but stranded 10 runners on base – eight over the first five innings. Nick Schulz had two walks and Lincoln’s only extra-base hit – a double – to extend his hitting streak to four. Over that span, Schulz is 8-for-12 with four doubles, three homers and three walks.

Christian Ibarra went 2-for-5 with a strikeout, while Josh Mazzola had two more hits to extend his hitting streak to three.

Tyler Moore finished 1-for-4 with a single and two strikeouts, while Ivan Marin went 0-for-4 and Cody Regis had three strikeouts.

Austin Boyle tossed a scoreless 8th inning with two walks and two strikeouts, and Reese Gregory – on for the third time in the series – went 1-2-3 in the 9th.

The ‘Dogs now hit the road for seven games over six days, beginning with a three-game series against the Texas AirHogs Sunday-Tuesday. First-pitch time is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., and pregame coverage will begin at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
