KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Saltdogs (2-1) held off a late rally to win 7-5 in game one and erupted for an impressive final-inning comeback in the nightcap to win 7-3, sweeping the Kansas City T-Bones (1-2) at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Sunday night.
In game one, the ‘Dogs piled on seven runs in the first two innings, highlighted by a gargantuan three-run homer to right off the bat of Mitch Canham.
For the encore, Lincoln tallied six runs in the top of the seventh (final regulation frame), led by a Brian Joynt two-run triple and a Ryan Lashley bases-clearing double.
Kevin McGovern (1-0) pitched six innings, allowing three runs while striking out seven and walking zero to earn the victory in game two.
Joynt finished the tail end of the twin bill 2-for-3 with a walk, home run, triple and three RBI.
