KOKOMO, Indiana – Randolph Oduber hit a two-run homer and reached three separate times, but the Lincoln Saltdogs dropped the series opener to the Milwaukee Milkmen, 7-2, at Kokomo Municipal Stadium on Friday afternoon.

BOX SCORE

With the game in Kokomo due to stadium construction delays on Routine Field – Milwaukee’s permanent home – the ‘Dogs played the first of three games at the home of the Kokomo Jackrabbits.

Oduber’s homer cut a five-run deficit to 5-2 in the 6th inning, but that was one of just three hits off of Milwaukee starter and former big-leaguer T.J. House, who gave up only the two runs over 7.2 innings of work in his third start of the year.

Daniel Herrera had two hits, and Ivan Marin was hit by a pitch to extend his on-base streak to 10. Cody Regis also collected a hit, but Curt Smith went hitless and had his season-high seven-game hit streak snapped.

Tyler Anderson gave up a run over 2.1 innings of work, and the ‘Dogs fell back to .500 at 7-7 on the year.

The Milkmen struck first on a two-out, two-run homer in the 3rd before scoring three more times in the 4th. The Milkmen added one more run in the 6th and once more in the 8th.

The ‘Dogs and Milkmen play again on Saturday afternoon at 12:05 p.m. Pregame coverage begins on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM at 11:35 a.m.
