WINNIPEG, Manitoba – Rookie Zach Keenan tossed seven scoreless innings, and the Saltdogs salvaged the series finale with a 7-0 shutout win over the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Shaw Park on Sunday afternoon.
Keenan posted a second quality start in two appearances as a professional, and the ‘Dogs put together a second shutout win in 2022.
The ‘Dogs (18-14) took a 2-0 lead in the 1st. Josh Altmann drove in his sixth run of the series with a sacrifice fly, and Justin Byrd extended his hitting streak to a season-high nine games with a two-out RBI single.
Lincoln added two more in the 2nd when J.R. DiSarcina drove in a run with a groundout, and Randy Norris – who had his second four-hit game at Shaw Park this year – added another with an RBI single.
Ryan Long hit a two-run homer to make it 6-0 in the 5th, and Alex Steinbach added a run on an RBI single in the 8th.

Along with Byrd’s nine-game hitting streak, tied with Hunter Clanin for Lincoln’s longest of the year, Randy Norris has hits in eight consecutive games.
The ‘Dogs now head south back to the U.S. and after a day off Monday, Lincoln opens a three-game series at Sioux Falls Stadium on Tuesday night. First pitch from The Birdcage is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., and pregame coverage will begin at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
