LINCOLN — The Saltdogs are proud to announce that the contract of RHP Luis Chirinos was sold to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

The 23-year old right hander went 0-1 with a 4.58 ERA in six starts for Lincoln in 2013 after being acquired by El Paso.

A native of Venezuela, Chirinos was originally signed by the Marlins franchise in 2007, reaching as high as the Single-A South Atlantic League.

Over the first seven years of his career, Chirinos holds a 33-24 record with a 3.71 ERA in 120 games pitched.

Chirinos becomes the 47th Saltdogs contract purchased by a Major League Baseball organization since 2001, and the second in less than a month (Curt Smith's contract was purchased by St. Louis in January).
