LINCOLN, Nebraska – Teodoro Martinez had two hits and three RBI, and the ‘Dogs took advantage of their run-scoring opportunities in a 9-5 win over the Kansas City T-Bones at Haymarket Park on Friday night.

Martinez plated two in the 3rd with a two-run double down the left-field line, and later drove in a run with a two-out RBI single in the 5th.

The ‘Dogs scored twice in the 1st inning before Kansas City scored once to half the deficit in the 2nd.

Lincoln added two more in the 3rd on the two-run Martinez double, and the RBI single later made it 5-1.

The T-Bones cut the deficit to one in the 6th when Mason Davis hit a two-run single and Danny Mars followed him up with an RBI single, but the ‘Dogs rebuilt the lead to five in the bottom-half of the frame with Nick Schulz’s two-run single and Tyler Moore’s two-out, two-run base hit.

Nick Tepesch earned his second consecutive win and sixth in 10 starts this year. The right-hander went six innings and allowed three earned runs with three walks. Austin Pettibone went two innings and allowed one run, while Austin Boyle struck out two in a scoreless 9th.

Martinez went 3-for-4 with the RBI, while Tyler Moore drove in three runs – his third straight game with an RBI. All nine ‘Dogs starters reached safely in the game, and the nine runs were the most the ‘Dogs had scored since a 12-run outburst in Sioux Falls back on June 16.
