LINCOLN — The Saltdogs once again partnered with Kaplan University on the "Kaplan K's for Scholarship" promotion and awarded a student $1,725 towards credit hours from the 2013 season.
Every time a Saltdogs pitcher struck out an opposing batter at Haymarket Park this past season, Kaplan University donated $5 toward the program.
"We have been very pleased with the results of our partnership with the Lincoln Saltdogs," Kaplan University Director of Admissions Michael A. Klacik, Jr. said. "It has been especially enjoyable teaming up to help finance the education for members of our community.”
JennaLee Harris, who is studying to be a Registered Nurse, was chosen randomly through the registrations submitted through the Saltdogs website.
Lincoln pitchers struck out 345 at home in 2013 batters to total the $1,725.
"The Lincoln Saltdogs have enjoyed a great partnership with Kaplan University for several years now," Saltdogs Assistant G.M. Bret Beer said. "The promotion is a unique and fun way to tie-in a baseball activity at Saltdogs games to an educational benefit for a college student.
"The Saltdogs organization truly appreciates the support of Kaplan University at Haymarket Park.”
