After clinching the Central division title following a rain out Sunday, the Saltdogs (54-46) split a double header with the Sioux City Explorers (47-53) in front of 4,579 fans to wrap up the regular season at Haymarket Park Monday afternoon.
The Saltdogs were bested 6-3 in game one, despite a 2-for-4, two RBI day from left fielder Chad Mozingo.
In the regular season finale, Lincoln was finished scoring by the fourth inning in a 12-6 rout in which Mike Gilmartin and Jeremy Hamilton both clubbed home runs.
Jake Meiers (3-3) pitched five innings to earn the win. Patrick Johnson (9-7) was bounced before booking an out in the third to suffer the loss.
Hamilton finished the finale 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI and his first home run of the campaign.
The Saltdogs travel to Winnipeg to open the best-of-five American Association Division Series with the Goldeyes Wednesday at 7 p.m. RHP Joe Bisenius (6-2, 3.46) will get the start.
