KANSAS CITY, Kansas – Christian Ibarra had a double and run scored, but the ‘Dogs fell 5-2 to the Kansas City T-Bones at JustBats Field on Thursday afternoon.
Ibarra’s double and run came in the 9th inning and was Lincoln’s first run since the 1st inning.
The ‘Dogs took a 1-0 lead on Tyler Moore’s RBI fielder’s choice that scored Forrestt Allday – back in the lineup for the first time since tweaking a hamstring on August 12th – but Spencer Herrmann allowed five runs over five innings, including four in the 1st.
Stewart Ijames – acquired in a trade with the Texas AirHogs last night – hit a two-run single in the 1st inning, and Christian Correa later made it 4-1 with a two-out, two-run single.
Kansas City added to the lead in the 5th inning. Chris Colabello led things off with a double and eventually scored when Omar Carrizales singled.
Shairon Martis tossed a scoreless 6th inning, Austin Boyle tossed a scoreless 7th and Josh Norwood faced the minimum in a scoreless 8th.
Moore’s RBI snapped a drought stretching back to Aug. 6, and Cody Regis hit his second double of the series. Nick Schulz reached twice – a walk and a single – and Nick Crouse had a single in his Saltdogs debut.
