ST. PAUL, Minnesota – Randolph Oduber went 2-for-4 with a double and run scored, but the ‘Dogs faltered late in a 5-1 loss to the St. Paul Saints on Wednesday night at CHS Field.

BOX SCORE

Oduber scored on Tyler Moore’s two-out RBI double in the 4th – his fifth RBI in as many games – and Oduber now has 16 multi-hit games in 2019.

Righty Shairon Martis had his longest outing of the year, but was pulled with two on and one out in the 6th inning. Cam McVey came in, and after a throwing error on a double-steal allowed a run to score, Brady Shoemaker bounced an RBI single up the middle to give the Saints a lead for good.

Later in the inning, Jhonathan Solano hit a bases-loaded, two-run double down the left-field line, and the Saints added one more run on a sacrifice fly in the 8th – the first run Evan Korson had allowed since June 3.

Curt Smith had another hit, while Joe Lytle also had a pinch-hit double in the 9th inning. The ‘Dogs had five hits in the game and scored just once for the second consecutive game.

Saints starter Dustin Crenshaw tossed 8.1 innings and allowed just the one run, while reliever Ken Frosch finished off the game in the 9th.

The ‘Dogs are back to three games under .500, and entered with a chance to take the first two series against the Saints – who’ve only lost two series this season.
