LINCOLN, Nebraska – Nick Tepesch tossed a complete-game shutout, and the ‘Dogs snapped a season-worst five-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over the Sioux City Explorers at Haymarket Park on Sunday evening.

BOX SCORE

Tepesch allowed seven hits and walked two with six strikeouts over Lincoln’s first shutout of the year, and the former big-leaguer snapped a four-game losing skid to win his fifth game of the season.

Tyler Moore had a two-run double to open the scoring in the 2nd inning, one night after clubbing a two-run homer to open the scoring on Saturday.

The ‘Dogs added a run on Cody Regis’s RBI fielder’s choice in the 5th inning, and Tepesch induced three double plays to work around traffic in the 4th, 5th and 8th innings.

Randolph Oduber’s eight-game hitting streak came to an end, but Tyler Moore has hits in four straight games and is one short of his season-best hitting streak. Joe Lytle had a single and Auggie Francis reached on an infield single, while Regis walked three times. Teodoro Martinez had a hit and Ivan Marin singled and scored in the fifth inning.

Sioux City reliever Ryan Flores was ejected for throwing behind Lytle in the 6th, and manager Steve Montgomery was also thrown out soon thereafter.

The ‘Dogs now hit the road for a four-game road trip that includes three games in St. Paul on Monday-Wednesday and one game in Fargo on Thursday afternoon.

First pitch time from CHS Field on Monday is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., and pregame coverage will begin at 6:35 on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
