LINCOLN – The Goldeyes held off the Saltdogs in the late innings to emerge victorious 7-6 in an exhibition game at Haymarket Park Saturday afternoon.

Winnipeg scored three runs in the second inning to take an early 4-2 lead. The ‘Dogs then rallied back to tie the game at 6-6 with a three-run rally in the sixth inning.

The Goldeyes tallied the deciding run on a Nate Blackwood sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh.

The Saltdogs are now 3-2 in exhibition play, and will host Sioux City in a pre-season game Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. Mothers, and fans wearing an “I Voted” sticker will get in for free.
