LINCOLN — The Saltdogs (30-47) scored two in the ninth to come back and beat the Rockland Boulders (48-27) 4-3 on a walk-off walk, ending Rockland’s 11-game win streak in front of 3,861 fans at Haymarket Park Friday night.
Tucker White singled to begin the bottom of the ninth, extending his hit streak to six. After a sacrifice bunt and a strikeout, Ryan Wiggins delivered a game-tying single to left.
Matt Forgatch was intentionally walked to load the bases before Aaron Payne drew a four-pitch walk to win the game, his third walk-off RBI of the year.
Zac Westcott (4-2) pitched a perfect ninth to notch the win. Luis Sanz (1-2) allowed two runs – one earned – on two hits to suffer the loss.
Payne finished the night 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Chase Cunninham pitched eight strong innings, allowing just three runs – three solo homers to the first six batters he faced – while walking zero and fanning four.
Forgatch went 2-for-4 with two runs for his third consecutive multi-hit game.
