LINCOLN — The Saltdogs have been busy bolstering the roster for the 2014 campaign, re-signing Lincoln Northeast grad RHP Travis Parker, two dominant relievers, and an infielder within the last week.

Lincoln completed a trade with Windy City (Frontier League) Tuesday for RHP Michael Click, who shut down opposition to the tune of a 0.90 ERA and 22 saves in 2013 for the ThunderBolts.

Click, a 25-year old from Temple University, struck out 71 batters in 50 innings, accumulating a 3-0 record in his tremendous 2013 season. In three years pitching in the Frontier League (Normal in 2011, Windy City in 2012-13), the right-hander is 7-2 with a 2.67 ERA, with 169 strikeouts in 134 2/3 innings.

The Saltdogs also offically inked RHP Marshall Schuler, whose rights they had acquired earlier in the offseason from El Paso. Schuler proved to be one of the best relievers in the American Association last season, going 8-2 with a 2.56 ERA while fanning 58 in 56 1/3 innings for the Diablos and Grand Prairie.

Parker, a former collegiate All-American, has gone 3-2 with a 5.83 ERA in his first two professional seasons for the Saltdogs.

INF Eddie Young signed a contract with Lincoln as well. The 24-year old out of UC Riverside played in eight games as a true rookie for Sioux City in 2013. Young was drafted by the Chicago White Sox out of high school but elected to play collegiately for the Highlanders of the Big West Conference.
