LINCOLN — The Saltdogs (25-41) got great starting pitching from Brandon Sinnery and a big fourth inning rally to topple Sioux City Explorers (30-38) 4-1 in front of 4,059 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.

Sinnery (1-0) tossed 6 2/3 innings, allowing just one run on five hits to earn the win in his Saltdogs debut. The lone run was surrendered in the first inning.

The ‘Dogs sprung for four runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth, highlighted by newcomer Matt Forgatch’s two-run single.

P.J. Zocchi worked a perfect ninth to collect his 14th save. Jason Jarvis (4-8) went the distance, allowing four runs on six hits but took the loss. Jarvis allowed just one base runner after the fourth inning.

Conor Spink, Pete Parise and Zocchi combined for 2 1/3 hitless innings of relief.

The win snapped a six-game skid for the Saltdogs.

The teams are back at it Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. for the rubber game of the series. Justin Edwards (3-5, 5.42) will toe the slab for the ‘Dogs against Alain Quijano (2-5, 3.18) for the Explorers. Radio coverage begins at 4:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
