LINCOLN — Ben Moore was baffling and the Saltdogs (41-36) managed just two hits in a 5-0 loss to the Sioux Falls Canaries (27-53) in front of 4,208 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.

Moore (6-5), the American Association's all-time wins leader, threw six innings, allowing just two hits while striking out five and walking one to earn his 55th career win in the league.

The Canaries tallied an unearned run in the third, snapping their 19-frame scoreless streak in the series. They added another on a Chris Duffy solo homer in the fourth, as Lincoln's six-game win streak and Sioux Falls' seven-game losing streak both ended.

Ian Gac singled in the fourth inning to extend his hit streak to 20 games, the second longest in franchise history.

Brian Joynt made an awesome play against the fence in the top of the first inning, robbing Brandon Jones of what would have been a home run.

Justin Kuks (4-4) pitched six innings, allowing two runs – one earned – on five hits with five walks and five strikeouts to suffer the loss.

The clubs are back at it Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. for the series finale. RHP Nick Green (2-4, 4.93) is scheduled to face LHP Matt Wickswat (2-6, 5.80). Radio coverage begins at 4:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
