AMARILLO, Texas — Amarillo kept the Saltdogs (48-45) bats quiet yet again as the Sox (50-43) completed the sweep with a victory 7-0 in front of fans at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium Sunday evening.
The Sox capitalized on some shaky Lincoln defense in the bottom of the first, plating five runs on four hits and two errors.
Brad Wilson (4-2) earned the victory, pitching seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits while striking out three and walking two to earn the win. Luis Chirinos (3-4) lasted six, surrendering seven runs on 10 hits while striking out four and walking one to suffer the loss.
David Espinosa went 3-for-4 in the losing effort, his 31st multi-hit game of the campaign.
Lincoln was swept for just the second time in 2013 – both on he road – and was outscored 18-2 in Amarillo.
The 'Dogs are off Monday and open a three-game series at Haymarket Park against Wichita Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. In a battle of southpaws, Moises Melendez will take the mound for the Dogs against Anthony Capra. Radio coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
