LINCOLN — Kyle Anderson silenced the Lincoln bats as the Winnipeg Goldeyes (6-4) topped the Saltdogs (6-4) 4-2 in front of 2,690 fans at Haymarket Park Sunday afternoon.
Anderson (2-0) pitched seven scoreless, allowing just two hits while striking out four to earn the win. The 26-year old lefty at one point sent down 15 in a row.
The Goldeyes opened the scoring with three runs in the third and added another in the eighth.
Rene Leveret belted a two-run homer for the Saltdogs in the ninth, but the game ended with the possible tying run in the on-deck circle.
Shairon Martis (2-1) pitched six, allowing three runs while striking our five and walking two to suffer the loss.
Lincoln hit five home runs over the weekend, but dropped two of three.
Manager Bobby Brown was ejected in the top of the eighth shortly after Lincoln RHP Brad Orosey had to leave the game due to being hit in the foot by a line drive.
