The American Association continues to lead all Independent leagues in the number of players now on Major League 40-man rosters.
The league has 11 players currently on 40-man rosters including 10 pitchers and one outfielder. Former American Association alumnus Junior Guerra recently played a key role in the NLCS for the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Saltdogs have had 55 players signed to a Major League Baseball organization in the club’s history, with 32 of them signing since 2011.
The ‘Dogs have had 4 players rise up through the affiliated ranks and make appearances with their Big League club. Most recently, Ryan Carpenter made 5 starts and appeared in 6 games with the Detroit Tigers during the 2018 season. Other former Saltdogs to make it on an MLB roster include Angel Castro, Tim Adleman, and Chris Jakubauskas.
