FARGO, N.D. — For the second straight night, the first three Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (33-50) to the plate scored as the home team complete a four-game sweep with a 3-2 victory over the Saltdogs (30-53) in front of 3,758 fans at Newman Outdoor Field Thursday night.
Trailing 3-0 after an inning, Mike Gilmartin led off the top of the second with a double. Three batters later, Jeremy Hamilton stroked him home with a triple then scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-2.
Tyler Alexander (3-5) pitched eight innings, allowing two runs while fanning eight and walking one to earn the win. Kevin McGovern (4-8) went seven, allowing three runs while striking out six and walking two to suffer the loss.
The Saltdogs have now dropped five straight and are just 11-34 all time in North Dakota.
Hamilton’s second-inning triple extended his hit streak to five games.
Former Huskers hurler Mike Nesseth worked another perfect ninth to book his 14th save.
