LINCOLN – The Lincoln Saltdogs unveiled their preseason schedule on Tuesday and announced they will host three exhibition games in eastern Nebraska cities before the regular season begins.

The first pitch of the preseason will be thrown out at Plum Creek Ballpark in Seward on Sunday, May 6th.   The Saltdogs will host the Sioux City Explorers at 4:00 PM.  This is the second straight year the ‘Dogs and X’s have squared off in Seward.

The next exhibition game is in York on Friday, May 11th.  The Saltdogs will battle fellow South Division foe Kansas City at 6:30 PM.

Next, the Saltdogs begin a journey north with a stop in Norfolk on Saturday, May 12th.  The Dogs will face the rival X’s once more with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 PM at Veteran’s Memorial Field.

Saltdogs President and GM Charlie Meyer says he is excited about showing fans outside of Lincoln the exciting brand of baseball played by the Saltdogs.

“The team is very excited about the opportunity to play in towns across eastern Nebraska,” Meyer said. “It’s important to our organization to continue to reach out to the various Nebraska communities and share professional baseball with families and fans across the state.”

After the game in Norfolk, the Saltdogs will head to Minnesota to play the St. Paul Saints on the 14th and 15th.

The Saltdogs are the reigning Central Division Champions. The 18th season of Saltdogs baseball begins on Thursday, May 17th.  For more offseason information on the Saltdogs, follow the team on Facebook and Twitter/Instagram @saltdogsball.
