Before: An 11th round selection by San Diego in 2004, Matt spent three seasons in as a reliever in the Padres’ organization. In 2005, he made 54 appearances for Fort Wayne and led the Midwest league with 34 saves. Last year, he posted a 2.28 ERA in 43 games with Lake Elsinore. Matt has recorded 128 strikeouts with just 46 walks in 135.2 career innings.
