Vargas joins the Saltdogs for the 2025 season.

2024:  Appeared in 18 games with 16 starts for the Tri-City Valley Cats in the Frontier League, going 7-5 with a 6.13 ERA, with one complete game shutout.  In 108.2 innings, Vargas struck out 89 batters and walked 43.  Vargas appeared in 11 games with five starts for Gigantes de Carolina in the Puerto Rican Winter League.  He was 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA.  In 32.2 innings, he struck out 26 and walked 12.

2023:  Began the season with Tri-City, going 8-5, with a 3.73 ERA.  In 18 appearances, Vargas had 17 starts while striking out 106 batters and walking 43.  Vargas pitched in three games for the York Revolution in the Atlantic League, going 0-1 with a 12.27 ERA.  In 3.2 innings, he struck out five and walked four.

2022:   Appeared in 36 games with five starts for the Winnipeg Goldeyes, in the American Association, going 5-3 with a 4.78 ERA.  In 58.1 innings, Vargas struck out 59 and walked 36 batters.

2021:  Went 12-3 in his final college season at MidAmerica Nazarene.  Vargas appeared in 17 games with 15 starts, with 10 complete games and three shutouts.  In 104.0 inning, Vargas struck out 137 batters with 36 walks.

2020:   During the COVID-shortened season, Vargas was 2-1 with a 4.33 ERA.  Appearing in six games, Vargas had three starts, two complete games, one shutout and two saves.  In 27.0 innings, he struck out 34 batters and walked 13.

2019:   In his first year at MidAmerica Nazarene, Vargas was 6-3 with a 4.74 ERA.  In 12 appearances, Vargas recorded eight starts, with three complete games and two strikeouts.  In 62.2 innings, he struck out 74 batters and walked 30.
