Markl joins the Lincoln Saltdogs in 2026. A left-handed starter, Markl starts his second season of professional baseball after spending 2025 with the Boise Hawks, in the Pioneer League.
2025: Markl had one start for the Boise Hawks and went 0-1 with a 12.00 ERA in 3.0 innings pitched.
2024: He played his final collegiate season for the Arizona State Sun Devils, in the Pac-Twelve Conference. Markl went 6-4 with a 4.68 ERA in 14 starts, while logging 65.1 innings pitched.
2023: Markl’s junior season was with the Grand Canyon Antelopes, in the Western Athletic Conference. He was 3-1 with a 6.29 ERA. In 16 appearances, Markl start nine games, plus recorded one save in 54.1 innings, while recording 56 strikeouts. 2021: Markl started his freshman season at Grand Canyon, going 2-1 with a 6.43 ERA. Appearing in 16 games, he logged two starts and worked 21.0 innings, while striking out 25 batters. During the summer, Markl played for the La Crosse Loggers, in the Northwoods League. He went 2-1 in ten appearances with a 2.41 ERA, while starting five games.
