Dayton is a two-way player that joins the Saltdogs via a trade with the Boise Hawks, of the Pioneer League.  A former back-end relief pitcher in college, Dayton not only has moved into a starting role on the mound, but he is also a corner infielder that adds consistency at the play, offensively.

2026:  On the mound for the Boise Hawks, he went 4-1, with a 6.41 ERA in eight starts, throwing 46.1 innings.  At the plate, Dayton hit .372 in 20 games with three home runs and eight runs batted in.

2025:  Dayton went 7-1 for the Hawks, with a 6.44 ERA.  In 23 appearances he recorded 13 starts, pitching 88.0 innings.  Offensively, in 33 games, he hit .333 with one home run and three runs batted in.

2024:  Concluded his senior year for the Seattle Redhawks, in the Western Athletic Conference.  In 25 appearances, Dayton was 4-4 with a 5.54 ERA.  In 50.1 innings he recorded five save and struck out 58 batters.  At the plate, he hit .255 over 50 games with two home runs and twenty-one runs batted in.  Dayton began his professional career with Boise, going 1-0, with a 4.89 ERA.  In 30 appearances, he recorded two saves, over 35.0 innings, and struck out 37 batters.

2023:  During Dayton’s junior year for Seattle, he went 4-2, with a 5.21 ERA.  In 25 appearances, he had four saves.  Over 46.2 innings, Dayton struck out 54 batters.  During the summer, Dayton played for the Portland Pickles, in the West Coast League.  In seven games, he hit .294.

2022:   Dayton played his sophomore season with the Texas Longhorns, in the Big XII Conference.  In three games, he was 0-0, with a 0.00 ERA, pitching 1.1 innings with two strikeouts.  Offensively, he had two plate appearances.  During the summer, Dayton spent time with the Bellingham Bells, in the West Coast League.  He was 0-1, with a 1.88 ERA.  In nine games, he had one start and recorded three saves, over 24.0 innings pitched.  At the plate, Dayton hit .250 in 17 games with three runs batted in.  Dayton also played for the Seguin River Monsters, in the Texas Collegiate League.  On the mound, he was 0-2, with a 12.38 ERA.  In four games, he threw 8.0 innings and struck out 15 batters.  At the plate, he hit .273 in 11 games with one RBI.
