The holidays can be a hard time for hospital patients, especially children. That's why Homer the Haymarket Hound spent New Year's Eve at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, helping young patients confined to the hospital over the holidays ring in the New Year.

"Thanks so much!" said Madonna's Tami Rudder. "These patients were here over the holidays and Homer provided much-needed cheer for them."

"Homer puts smiles on the faces of children at the ballpark all summer long," said Saltdogs general manager Tim Utrup. "Some kids can't come to the park to see Homer, though, so Homer makes the effort to go see them. It's another great opportunity for us to give back to the community."
